Home Learning

The following document outlines our remote education provision. It is intended that this document will provide clarity and transparency to our pupils, parents and carers about what to expect from our remote education provision where national or local restrictions require entire cohorts (or bubbles) to remain at home and for details of what to expect where individual pupils are self-isolating.

Resources to use at home:

Within the 'home learning' section of the website you will find a range of resources to suit all age groups.

Seesaw instructions have been emailed to families and children/families can post work on this for teachers to see.

If you are having any problems accessing the above please contact school via email.

Below is a list of useful links to support home learning, which may be of benefit.

This Family Activity Menu is provided for use by parents during the afternoons of 12th, 19th and 26th March when Benton Dene Primary school will be closed to pupils.

Active Mile

Alongside the North Tyneside Sports Team, we would like to promote an initiative to encourage all of our children who have been inspired by Captain Tom to take part in a similar exercise activity. The activity is designed to get children active and running 1 mile each day. This mile can take place in your gardens, up and down your staircases ( safely! ) or as part of your 1 hour of exercise away from your homes.

Cosmic Kids

We've had an email from Jaime from Cosmic Kids, and wanted to share it with parents so that they could benefit from the resources Cosmic Kids provide.

"Hello!

Jaime here. I hope you are doing ok.

Martin and I (and Mini and Spence) are here and thinking about what we can do to help...

On top of our videos, we have few more things that might be useful to families - FREE stuff to download and use offline for a bit of variety.

  •  Our funsheets are a great set of printables which have lots of fab mindfulness & crafty ideas which are easy to do at home.
  •  Also our Guided Relaxation scripts. Your voice is one of the most soothing sounds to your kids and will always make them feel safe.
  •  There's our episode guide. An interactive menu of all our yoga adventures with links. This might help you discover videos which your kids haven't done yet.

I hope you find these useful! Please share them with others.

I honestly think that if we work together and support one another we will come through this stronger than ever."

North Tyneside Libraries - BorrowBox

BorrowBox is a North Tyneside Libraries online service that allows people to become online library members and access a free library of eBooks and Audiobooks online through the BorrowBox app (available both on Android and iOS through the Google Play Store and Apple App Store, respectively).

You can join North Tyneside Libraries online by using the form at:

https://capitadiscovery.co.uk/northtyneside/join which will send you an email with a PIN code that allows you to access the online catalogue and the BorrowBox system. You can convert this into a full North Tyneside library membership later if you want.

To get the app running, start the app and find the North Tyneside Libraries service.
